Tumble Dryer and Washing Machine Door Interlocks is a name given to a switch/mechanism behaind or near the main latching device of the door and is designed to give a time delay of up to two minutes before the door can be opened.
Although switches differ from one manufacturer to the other, there are only a few manufacturers who actually make the switches themselves so searching by what is on the interlock can be worthwhile. Names to look our for are Metaflex, Rold, Bitron.
